I wanted to share some pics of this unique antique buffet I have refinished for our monthly sale at The Plucky Peacock. I don't have a before picture. She was in rough shape when I first acquired her and that means she went straight to the workshop with no pics. My husband fixed her up and sanded to the original wood. I knew I wanted to preserve some of that gorgeous tiger oak. It is such a striking wood, my personal favorite. The buffet had a lot of inlaid wood designs but most was badly damaged and a lot of the pieces had fallen out. Luckily the top was salvageable! Just look at the lovely design in the wood!
I used General Finishes paint in Antique White for this piece. Light distressing was just right to showcase the lovely details and unique design. The hardware was mismatched but the original castors were still intact. Such a lovely antique beauty!
