Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

I have done very little metallic furniture in my "career" but when I saw this chest from Redford House I really wanted to try this look for myself.
Here is the before shot of the desk , I am going to have to get better about taking these now that I am trying to get back to my blogging. Which, by the way, I am thoroughly enjoying!

I always try to sell my pieces in their original condition before painting them unless they are in need of extensive work or repairs. This desk was a solid wood mahogany piece, very well made. After giving it a fair shot at selling as is, I decided to paint. My hubby sanded her down to the natural wood. I love to prep my pieces this way, it erases flaws and paves the way for a super durable, smooth finish.
My original intention for this piece was red, I happened to be painting a china cabinet red at the same time so it just made sense. Once the red was on I just wasn't feeling it so I decided to give the antiqued metallic finish a go. I must say I am in L~O~V~E!!! What do you think? Did I knock it off pretty well?
