Highboy Dresser Makeover

I love summer! Painting goes so quickly in hot weather. This highboy dresser is one of my latest makeovers. This is the only the second highboy I have ever been able to purchase. They are usually too expensive. I got lucky with this one. While my son was at the dentist, I was in the waiting room entertaining myself looking through Craigslist ads. Normally I don't buy off of Craigslist, it requires too much driving and  I can't usually just drop everything and go. I was so excited to see this highboy pop up, I was the first caller, how exciting! The house was very close to the dentist office and I had loading help right there with me, perfect! I brought her home and she has been hanging out in the garage for about 6 months now. I think I was intimidated by all of those shiny brass handles. Here is the before~
The piece was not in bad shape. Since it was not an antique I didn't feel bad about painting it anyway. I sanded, primed and painted with Light French Grey by Behr. I distressed pretty heavily and finished off with Wipe on Ploy by Minwax. The drawer interiors got a coating of coral pink, an oops paint find. I lined the bottom 2 drawers with fabric.

I sprayed the hardware Oil Rubbed Bronze. I would have never guessed it but that was what looked the best.
