Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

I picked up this retro waterfall desk at an estate sale last summer. I am trying to work through items that I have had sitting for a while. For me this was a hard piece to motivate myself to do. I think because it strikes me as masculine and I tend to love the girly stuff (shocking I know!). At any rate, I like to let a piece speak to me and this one was certainly speaking in a deep voice. I picked up a $5 oops paint at Lowes the other day, if I was naming the color I would call it Industrial Grey. Perfect for my desk! I totally forgot the before picture but it was pretty scratched and knocked up. I sanded, primed and painted. Then I distressed the edges and glazed with black glaze.

The desk had all of the original bakelite handles. I painted them black, it was hard for me to do but the shape and size were perfect for the desk.
I painted the interior a shockingly bright yellow, the drawers have a lot of cool compartments.
