Black Beauty~ A Vanity Makeover

Two posts in one day, are you getting tired of hearing from me yet? I started to wait on writing a post about this vanity because I took my pictures inside so they are not the greatest. However, since I plan on keeping this piece in my home until it sells I felt lazy about taking it back outside for photos. Not to mention the groans I would have to endure from my "helpers" LOL! This is one cool piece of furniture, an auction find again. She has the neatest compartments in the drawers, it looks like there was a flip up mirror at one time {too bad it didn't make it}, and the best part is a secret drawer that fits behind the top right one.

Thankfully the chipped veneer was easily removed. I sanded, primed and painted with Valspar Satin Black. I distressed the edges then hit them with some stain and followed it up with rub on poly. I thought the original hardware was great so I went with it, I did consider spraying them with Satin Nickel but decided not to. Of course I had my fun with the drawers and fixed up a cute chair to match!
