Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

I am proud as a peacock over my latest makeover! When I brought this dilapidated chest home from the auction I really thought I had bitten off more than I could chew. It had several holes in each drawer where hardware had been replaced as well as several deep scratches.
As you can see from the back she is a true antique. This is one antique piece I was not going to  feel guilty about painting! She had great bones and was certainly worth saving.

My first thought was to fill in all the holes and scratches and paint over. When I applied the primer I could see there were just too many imperfections in the finish. I decided to use some patterned wallpaper I had leftover from my black trunk makeover . I am in love with the finished piece!

I picked up these glorious glass knobs at Hobby Lobby. All of their hardware is 50% off  this week.

I couldn't resist bringing my chair out to photograph. I think the orange and peacock blue are perfect together!
