Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

I was not planning on finishing any more furniture makeovers before Christmas, but yesterday I was forced to call off all activities because my daughter had a stomach bug. She is feeling much better now! I guess there is a silver lining in every cloud, I managed to complete this sweet depression era dresser and nearly finished up a desk I have been picking at too. I have no idea what happened to my before pictures so you will just have to use your imagination!I used a heavier hand with the glaze than I usually do, I love the effect.

I personally love it without the mirror, I don't know why.
I stapled black and white ticking fabric inside the drawers.

The dresser originally had nondescript wood knobs, so I jazzed it up with these pretties from Hobby Lobby. I stocked up on beautiful hardware at the last 50% off sale. It was so much fun to try different combos until I came up with the perfect look!
I was originally thinking that I would use the glass knobs on all of drawers. I didn't care for that, so I tried them on just the top drawers, still not right. In the end I used the clock faced knobs on top and these cool cast iron ones on the bottom drawers. I know I would have never put them together in the store, so it really worked well having a variety to choose from and play with!
