My Family Room

Reading through my favorite blogs this morning I saw that Laura over at

Bright, Bold and Beautiful

is having a linky party for your favorite "hang out" room. Our family's favorite spot to hang out is the family room! I am learning to use my new camera so I thought this would be a great opportunity to practice~

Most of my furniture is slipcovered with outdoor fabric. If you would like to read about my $10 sofa

                                                      I finally finished those

end tables.

I love these sparkly crystal lamps and  mirrors I picked up at Marshalls.

I won this shelf at an auction years ago and painted it black. I use it to display my white pottery.

Beautiful hand painted tole tray, another thing I love is tole trays.

I think white pottery is so soft and beautiful. It is easy to find and quite affordable as well. This is a hull planter from the 1940's.

I love the shape and color of this red chair. It really needs to be reupholstered but I use it anyway.

My family room has a two sided fireplace which we love. The leaves on the mantle are part of my sadly lacking Fall decor. The right picture I took of my sweet little birds a while back. They sort of get lost in the foilage.

Lots of little chairs for lots of little people!

All of my trunks are cleverly disguised toy boxes~

A piano for the kids to practice on. I am not crazy about this piano but my husband carried it down 2 flights of stairs for me, so it is mine forever!

My banjo clock that doesn't work and a lovely rock from my 4 yr old.

Hope you enjoyed your tour of our family's hang out spot! It's not the best but its ours and we love it~
